In the not-so-distant past, supply chain design seemed simpler. Deliveries typically went to industrial locations, like factories and warehouses; retail locations, like stores, strip plazas and malls; or, with the rise of e-commerce, directly to the consumer. Supply networks were relatively stable and for the most part, delivery windows were generous.
Like so many things in the last year, that’s gone out the window. Supply chain leaders today, and in the future, will grapple with factors inside and outside the four walls of their facilities and organizations that will impact the design of their supply chains.
In this webinar, we’ll explore the trends most likely to impact supply chains and ways to redesign them to meet the demands of today’s customer. They include:
- Political disruptions and tariffs that may impact supply networks
- New demands from industrial customers on how and how often product is delivered
- New role for stores, including fulfillment of e-commerce orders shipped from the store, picked up in the store, returned to the store and picked up curbside
- Requirement to get closer and closer to the customer for direct-to-consumer orders, along with new locations for delivery
